Ravenna takes the day to teleport Savenia Loresong, Mar’Khabazza, and Magnus back to Opal to meet with the town council about the status of Beryl. They decide that Joktuk and his troops will police the town and keep order while the troupe reports back to Opal. In order to better understand the profitability of Beryl, Mar’Khabazza curls up in his study with the journal of Beryl. Ravenna pays a visit to Earthcaller Franzahl asking him to build a waterworks for Beryl to make it more inhabitable. Franzahl lets Ravenna know that Duergar cannot pass though organic material so a wood wall or floor would prevent Gorboto from merging with the earth.
She then takes the Duergar crafting book to the library, which absorbs it into its body of knowledge so she can refer to it. She also names Lorekeeper Mykos Chief Curator of the library. While there, she bumps into Savenia Loresong who has arranged for a meeting of the town council on the 18th to discuss the disposition of Beryl.

The day of the meeting finds Mar’Khabazza, Ravenna and Magnus in a conference room in the City Hall. Mar’Khabazza: “We have no pleasant memories here.”
They are welcomed by not just Postmaster Malown and Overseer Dathrohan, but the full council is here to hear the tale of the liberation of Beryl. Mar’Khabazza spins an exciting tale of heroism, bravery and selfless courage from the troops of Opal under Joktuk’s command who, let it be known, reported to Mar’Khabazza for this adventure.
Overseer Dathrohan is not amused by the assumption of ownership of the mine production and there is much debate at the table and not a little bit of posturing on both sides. In the end it is put to a vote:
Speaker Mar’grom – yea
Postmaster Malown – yea
Overseer Dathrohan – nay
Justiciar Mariel Trueheart – yea
Inquisitor Caleras – nay
Senator Mehr Stonehallow – yea
With the absence of Senator Redstone and the position vacant, the vote is 4-2 to have Opal support Mar’Khabazza in the rebuilding of Beryl. After studying the production logs, Mar’Khabazza stands to earn over six thousand silver a month once production hits full swing.
