For the next several days, the group plans and executes raids against the Sudaar camp. Aside from Senior Sergeant Joktuk the fighting force consists of

where hunters Kima, Lokni and Markhor are the associates of Kyle. Senior Sergeant Joktuk helps Mar’Khabazza form the group into skirmish groups, with the five sentinels entering the mines with Ravenna, Mar’Khabazza and Magnus and the rangers remaining in overwatch above and around the mine entrance with the intent to prevent anyone from entering or exiting the caves.
The first raid is a direct assault into the mine to the east, and the group is beaten back by the two tribes of sudaar and take many wounds. The group retreats to their camp to bind wounds and take a brief rest.
Subsequent raids are more effective, with Mar’Khabazza scouting ahead at the very edge of their lantern light and ambushing sudaar as they attack the main group. As they press inwards, the strategy is to leave a guard and lantern at each intersection to remain alert for ambushes from the rear.
The eastern mine tunnels prove to be cramped, claustrophobic and elaborate and it takes several days to clear out the whole complex, with the sudaar attempting to fight their way past the guards several times only to be cut down by the ranger’s arrows outside. In that time they discover that the river flowing into the outlet from the depression on the surface flows through this mine complex, and with it exists the strange phenomenon that affects only Mar’Khabazza and Ravenna in which their extremities feel like they have fallen asleep after being dipped in a thick oil.
The water demon from the surface also appears here and attempts to seize Ravenna but is instead beaten back under an onslaught of shock bolts.
In the end, the soldiers overcome the remaining sudaar and the group is able to recover some plundered booty as well as baskets of unrefined metallic ore and minerals, but no one present can identify what ores they could be.
